VY/VZ IPC Editor · V13.3

Purpose-built cluster diagnostics

Understand the cluster.
Change it with confidence.

A focused Windows tool for Holden VY and VZ instrument clusters, built around confirmed ALDL captures, clear workflows and careful read-back verification.

PC to IPC, without pretending pin 9 is OBD-II.

Built for the bench.
Ready for the vehicle.

Choose direct bench communication or the recovered in-vehicle BCM/INS handover. Use a selectable COM port with a USB ALDL cable, or choose a compatible installed 32-bit J2534 interface.

A

Bench cluster

Direct, controlled testing

Ideal for spare-cluster validation, backups, display tests and bench-only Mode, Set, Up and Down overrides.

DIRECT
B

In vehicle

BCM/INS bus handover

Uses the recovered bus-control sequence before IPC requests and reopens the session when verification requires it.

IN CAR

Complex protocol.
Plain-language controls.

Every main workflow keeps the technical detail available in the full log, while the working screen stays focused on the job.

01

Identify & preserve

Know the cluster before you touch it

Read the detected profile, GM part number, fuel calibration, manufacture data and hardware level, then save a mapped 512-byte EEPROM backup.

02

Configure

Guided VY and VZ configuration

Work with vehicle configuration, fuel sender calibration and dependent SRS selections without needing to remember raw ALDL frames.

03

Personalise

Displays that suit the vehicle

Read and write supported Holden, HSV, Chevrolet, Omega and CSV boot screens, plus HSV vehicle type, build number and ten-character custom text.

Diagnose & test

Useful checks without the clutter

Read the confirmed IPC fault table, issue the explicit clear command, run gauge tests and use bench-only trip-switch overrides.

A write should prove what happened.

The editor puts the backup, security, acknowledgement and read-back stages around the value you actually want to change.

  • Detects the native VY/VZ profile before guarded writes
  • Creates a mapped backup before newly recovered write workflows
  • Performs a fresh security unlock immediately before programming
  • Reads the same record or table back after the write
  • Keeps Pontiac and unconfirmed VZ operations behind explicit boundaries

Programming still requires a stable 12–14 V supply and controlled testing. Newly recovered write paths are offline-tested and should be validated one change at a time on spare hardware.

Recovered tools, with the raw details left visible.

V13.3 includes guided legacy writes and guarded record/table editors for confirmed storage layouts. Unknown values stay labelled unknown.

How much does access cost?

The VY/VZ IPC Editor subscription is $80 AUD per month. Creating an account does not charge you; payment is confirmed separately before access begins.

Can I sign in before paying?

Yes. A new account can sign in and continue browsing the website, including the subscription page. Downloads and application login remain locked until payment is confirmed.

Which clusters are supported?

Native Holden VY and VZ IPC profiles are the primary target. Pontiac/native-VZ compatibility is kept separate where it has not been proven.

Does it work through the normal OBD-II protocols?

No. These clusters use GM ALDL at 8192 baud on J1962 pin 9. J1850 VPW/PWM and generic OBD-II protocol numbers are not substitutes.

Are all raw values decoded?

No. Data Tables 0–9 can be viewed read-only, but unproven byte meanings and scaling remain visibly unknown instead of being guessed.
